Cymbalta - Leanne - 06-17-2009

I was warned against Cymbalta by a friend, and the day my Doctor decided to prescribe it to me, I cringed. I decided to listen to my doctor and take it, and I had nothing but troubles ever since. I constantly had headaches, and when I finally stopped taking it I would have strange nightmares. I am grateful to have found a new medication. I was using cymbalta to treat depression.

Zoloft - Jane - 06-17-2009

I suffered from extreme anxiety all my life, so severe that, looking back, I think it interfered with everything I wantedto accomplish. I was so fearful, I didn't go to a doctor for years and years, until I fell and broke my arm and it was discovered I had high blood pressure. I blurted out to the doctor that I was scared, and she asked me why. I couldn't answer so she put me on Zoloft. I broke my arm during one of the hottest summers I'd experienced and I had to wear a body immobilizer and sleep sitting up for weeks. I got yeast infections under both arms and had to have help bathing. I feel the Zoloft got me through that time, and more. My lifelong anxieties aren't as debilitating and I feel relaxed, and suffered no significant side effects.

Percocet 10/650 - mand83 - 06-17-2009

though this drug helped tremendously with the pain and discomfort post surgury i was easily dependent on them. the withdraw from the drug was not worth the benifit in my case. Also, on this drug I had to lay down and couldn't complete normal daily tasks as it made me drowsy and out of it. I would only recommend the use of this drug for very very short term use at the smallest dose available and ask your doctor about stepping down off of it to minimise the withdraws. hope this helps

Advair Diskus - Callie - 06-17-2009

I was given this disk for slight asthma. My asthma isn't even bad enough to worry with an inhaler any more than maybe 2 weeks of the year. The doctor prescribed this saying I needed to take it every day even if I had no symptoms. After taking the medication, my asthma would become worse and I had to stop running cross country because of the side effects

Percocet 10/650 - Donna - 06-17-2009

I have taken Percocet twice in my life. The first time was for an oral surgery I had to have done. I took the Percocet 15 minutes before my dental appointment and I felt no pain.

The second time was when I had my C-section. That was a painful process, and without the Percocet I would not have been able to care for my son by myself when my husband went back to work.

There were no bad side-effects, I was able to think clearly while taking care of my newborn.

Prilosec - Donna - 06-17-2009

As soon as I got pregnant with my son, I had terrible heartburn almost constantly. The hearburn was so bad it would wake me up at night. I didn't matter what I ate, I always got heartburn after it.

I started taking Prilosec and that was the end of my heartburn problem. It was so nice to get a full nights sleep again, I didn't have to worry about what I ate, or sleeping in an upright position. I have continued to take Prilosec from time to time as I still have occasional problems with heartburn.

Zoloft - Suz - 06-17-2009

I began having anxiety in college and it led to panic attacks, stomach problems, and trouble sleeping. After seeing a counselor for 6 months, the panic attacks were not decreasing and she recommended taking Zoloft for at least 6 months to see if it would help. Almost a week after starting, the Zoloft seemed to make a huge difference. I was more confident in situations where I previously felt "stuck" or had stomach upsets because I was anxious. The improvement continued until I felt pretty normal.

Side-effects I noticed were rapid heart beat, shakiness and bruising easily. However those things went away after I had been on the medicine for 4 or 5 months.

After almost 2 years I have stopped taking Zoloft because I started to feel an emotional numbness. I think I probably outlasted the medicines effectiveness, and it was just time to stop. Weaning off of the medicine was much easier than starting-- I had much less shakiness, headache and trouble with rapid heart beat. I think the Zoloft helped me have a break from the anxiety, and now I feel much more strong and able to deal with stress and worry.

Prozac - Connie - 06-17-2009

I began Prozac after the birth of my 3rd child when the "baby blues" just didn't go away. If I managed to get out of bed and get dressed, the day was a success. When I was awake, I was growling at the kids for truly insignificant things.
My older children noticed the difference in me within a week. I didn't notice until probably 3 weeks. It was a gradual change but a significant and amazing transformation. Because of Prozac, I am a much better mother who takes the small stuff in stride. I am not nearly as easily overwhelmed. I don't cry over literally every little thing anymore. Perhaps most importantly, I smile every day.
I did have some minor sleep disturbances early on, but after a month or so, these occurrences dissipated.

Zyrtec - Ray - 06-17-2009

Allergies are nothing new to me. I've dealt with them for as long as I can remember. I was tested as a teen but my doctor didn't recommend allergy shots at that time and left me to try prescription after prescription to get results. I had pretty much given up on finding any medication either over the counter or prescription that would give me full relief by the time I was 30. I had been retested for allergies and found to be allergic to several things but the one thing that bothered me the most was environmental....cigarette smoke. Some brands set me off worse than others. I am not a smoker and neither is my husband. But, when you are in public you can't help but get a whiff of cigarette smoke in the air. Thank goodness our city passed the no smoking law in restaurants. My allergist prescribed Zyrtec to take care of the cigarette smoke which is a year round thing and also seasonal allergies.

Prozac - Tami - 06-17-2009

I started on Prozac when I was 30. For depression and rages. It has changed my life. I no longer have the blind rages I used to have. It has helped my depression a lot. If I skip it for a week or so, I can tell the difference. For me Prozac has saved my life and helped me keep my sanity. I did not have any major side effects with it at all.

Wellbutrin - eileen - 06-16-2009

This medication brought me out of a life long depression. I tried several other anti depressant which did not work. I have had no side effects other than my mood is stable and my life is worth living again. The added benefit is that it helped me to quit smoking. I would recomend this and encourage people on it to keep taking it and if it isn't working all the way ask your doctor to up the dosage.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo - Molly - 06-16-2009

This was the first birth control pill I used. I was able to receive it, free of charge, from Planned Parenthood. Everything went will, with little or no side effects for the first couple of years. However, after a few years of taking this medication I began spotting whenever I did not take my dose at the EXACT same time everyday. If I was off by an hour, would begin spotting the following day. My doctor said that my body had just adjusted to the medication. I am not taking a different birth control pill.

Seroquel - mdiramio - 06-16-2009

I was put on this medication for help sleeping. It turns my brain off just like a switch. It's been a miracle in helping me fall asleep and stay asleep. The only problem is it also turns ON the signal in your brain that tells your you're hungry. I could go munchie crazy if I wasn't careful. I've also heard many success stories with Schizophrenic patients and this drug.

Zyrtec - Emma - 06-16-2009

Zyrtec worked well for me for about one year (2 allergy seasons). What I liked most about the product was that it had very low side-effects compared to the over-the-counter allergy medications. Unfortunately, after having taken Zyrtec for 2 seasons, it just didn't seem as effective. I'm not sure if my body built up a tolerance to the pill or what, but after a period of using Zyrtec, it no longer treated my allergy symptoms completely. I still had the itchy, watery eyes; itchy throat and sneezing. Currently I am using Claritin, it works just as well as Zyrtec did.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo - Becka - 06-16-2009

I was a very late starter with my period. I started at 18 years old when my OB/GYN gave me a 7-day medication to get my body started, so to speak.

My OB/GYN thought it was probably caused by a condition called "Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome," and she started me on Ortho TriCyclen Lo, which, I've been told, is supposed to help treat this condition.

I love this medication because I don't have to worry about irregular periods, and for me I've never had cramps! (With the exception of a slight twinge once in a while.) I also haven't had problems with PMS.

As for side-effects, I've not really experienced a significant weight gain/loss since I've been on it.

Kiflone - ToughTimes - 06-15-2009

I suffered from gum infection around my wisdom tooth. The gums and my cheek were swollen due to the infection. My dentist prescribed 250mg cephalaxin oral tablets 4 times a day for a week so that the infection is cured and I could get my wisdom tooth extracted. But the infection was not completely cured after 1 week and some amount of swelling and pain still persisted. I countinued the same dosage for the next 2 weeks as I got my wisdom tooth extracted. Now I have stopped thaking the pills but I am now suffering from yest infection and anal hemorrohoids.

Yaz - erika - 06-15-2009

I absolutely love Yaz. It has been completely reliable thus far! I haven't gotten pregant. My periods are also much shorter and lighter than they were without the pill.

I didn't get any negative side effects from Yaz. The only side effects were positive. My face has cleared up and my skin looks so much better. My periods are much shorter than they are naturally, which is a definite plus. I don't get PMS at all. Although, a small caveat- the first three months are fairly difficult. Your body will be adjusting to the new hormones. I had breakthrough the entire first month and I was very moody for the next two months. But as soon as those three months passed I was just fine!

I would recommend Yaz to anyone! (In fact, I have- and all my friends have been just as happy.)

Vicodin - JY - 06-15-2009

As a diagnosed migraine sufferer – Vicodan is one of the medications prescribed for me that will enable me to continue my daily routine. My job is a very physical one, often requiring hours on my feet in the hot sun. Many of my migraine’s come from the tension in my shoulders and upper back, and with the onset of these symptoms I can take a Vicodan and relieve the pain before it turns into a debilitating migraine.

As for me there have been no side effects, but I usually try to eat when I take it to keep my stomach settled. It’s a great product I will continue to use.

Adderall - Kay - 06-15-2009

I have been taking Adderall for several months now for Adult Adhd. It has helped greatly with my concentration levels. I can now sit and complete tasks in a much shorter time frame compared to before without taking Adderall. I can sit and focus on projects now unlike before. I was even able to quickly catch onto a new computer system at work, whereas before it would have taken me a couple of weeks, instead of just a few days.

It has been a huge help not only in the workplace, but outside as well. I can now keep my attention on friends and family, and stories they are sharing. Unlike before where something else would quickly catch my attention leaving me to miss out on important memories that they were sharing with me. Now I am able to absorb every word they share, and sure to treasure it always.

The only side effect I have found with taking Adderall is dry mouth. But that is easily taking care of by drinking more water, which is a helpful way to make sure I get the full recommended eight glasses a day.

Augmentin - Lauren - 06-15-2009

Augmentin was a very bad experience for me. I came down with a severe sinus infection. I was out of school and missed exams due to my illness. The doctor prescribed Augmentin for me, and my mother and I hoped for the best. I took it for nearly a week without anything happening.

But then I had the reaction. After a week of the drug I started not being able to breath and got really bad hives. They switched my to kerflex and the condition was cured.
