My husband suffered from undiagnosed bipolar disorder for years. It wasn't until his daughter was hospitalized with symptoms familiar to him, that he finally was diagnosed. I did not know about the auditory hallucinations, the voices and the racing thoughts he suffered from for all those years. I know his whole life changed when he started taking the Seroquel. He has tried on occasion to reduce the amount he takes, and sometimes that will go on for a few weeks; but I know he will never totally stop taking this medication. I am so sorry he suffered for so long before finding out he could live without the suicidal thoughts that he had to deal with all those years.

I was originally diagnosed in 2005 with Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. My initial treatment was with Depakote and Seroquel. Seroquel definitely changed my life. It eliminated both audible hallucinations and voices that I heard in my mind. It also corrected psychotic thinking.

I still depend on Seroquel to keep my Schizophrenia in check. It also helps me to stay out of mania and get decent sleep every night. When I'm manic or don't sleep well, I can have recurrence of symptoms. Fortunately, this hasn't happened in sometime.

The only side effect I've noticed is occasional dry mouth. My doctor also thinks it may play a role in my being overweight. I don't care. The benefits far outweigh the side effects.

I was prescribed Seroquel for insomnia related to depression. It instantly turns off my racing mind and I can sleep a successful 8-10 hour night without tossing and turning. The downside is a RAGING appetite, but if you can learn to keep it at bay, it's worth it.

Seroquel is the most recent of the drugs I have tried for my moderate depression. Everything else had pretty severe side effects. My doctor warned my about he possibility of weight gain with Seroquel. (That is another of my problems.) But, it hasn't been an issue. In fact, the Seroquel seems to be working. I feel better in general and don't seem to be eating to compensate. It is too early to say this is life changing, but so far so good.

It has only been four months, I will see what happens over the next few months. Some of the other drugs worked for a while, but this seems to be last longer than the rest without the side effects.

I was prescribed Seroquel after being diagnosed with Bi-polar and Borderline Personality Disorders by my physician.
I will never forget how hard it hit me the first time I took it. Approximately 15 minutes after taking it I was in my kitchen cleaning up and had stood up on a chair to put something away. The entire room just tilted and I fell onto the floor. I was so incapable of moving I had to crawl to my room.

Over time the side effects were not as severe but would make me groggy and I felt mental foggy and tired. I also noticed that I often had severe mood swings and tantrums on this drug. I remember that I once became so mad I was jumping up and down and screaming and crying like a toddler over something trivial. I would never take this drug again.

I had a severe insomnia problem. I was staying up days on end. I found out stress played a part in why I wasn't getting any sleep. I tried several different prescriptions. I couldn't find one that didn't leave me drowsy, or groggy the next day. It was also near impossible for me to find something that didn't knock me instantly. That was until I tried Seroquel.

The first night I knew it would be a good fit. I was sleep about half an hour after I took the medicine. It was the best 8 hours I had gotten in weeks. The next day I was refreshed and ready for anything. I highly recommend this product.

I was put on this medication for help sleeping. It turns my brain off just like a switch. It's been a miracle in helping me fall asleep and stay asleep. The only problem is it also turns ON the signal in your brain that tells your you're hungry. I could go munchie crazy if I wasn't careful. I've also heard many success stories with Schizophrenic patients and this drug.

This is one of only a few drugs that has taken the edge off of my anxiety. However, the side effects are very difficult to deal with. I need to manage some parts of my life around this drug. IE Take early, plan things later in the afternoon to avoid early morning fatigue. It has also limited my tolerance for physical activity. That all said, it is worth it to have that much relief from anxiety.

I was given Seroquel for a Bipolar II disorder and OCD. My doctor started me on 25mg and worked me up to 400mg. I did not like this medication at all. It made me groggy, and I felt like I no longer had my own thoughts in my head. I had a lot of nightmares, and the only thing it did to cure my manic feelings was completely zonk me out. I felt like a complete zombie. My doctor tried lowering the dosage, but this didn't help at all. I would never take this drug again.

I was started on Seroquel around 1998. At that time I was suffering from depression with psychotic features. At first the drug made me sleepy; however, after a few months that side-effect went away. I found that I could take the medication at night or in the morning and never felt drowsy. I did gain a lot of weight while on this medication, but have started a diet and exercise program, which is helping.

Before Seroquel I was on SSDI. Now I am working full-time and going to school. I was accepted into a PHD program and hope to finish in about 3 more years.

It feels good to have my life back on trak. Seroquel made that happen.

When I was being hospitalized for bi-polar disorder I was put on Seroquel. I was highly manic and unable to sleep, I was also quite psychotic. Firstly, this medication allowed me to sleep for the first time in weeks. It was very powerful and I stayed sleepy throughout most of the day. I have to admit, Seroquel helped me regain my sanity and after two weeks I was released from the hospital. After continuing to take the Seroquel however, began to feel strange upon awakening. It felt like I wasn't fully able to wake up and I was half asleep throughout the day. Also, I had terrible restless leg syndrome symptoms during the night. I would say this drug is a great way to prevent psychotic symptoms, and during an episode it can be life saving. Yet I won't take this drug as a preventative measure because of the sleepiness.
