Mucinex D proved very effective in combating my cough. I'd had a terrible, painful cough for approximately two weeks before I took Mucinex D. A friend recommended the medication, but I was skeptical. However, within a matter of days, my cough had improved and, within a week, had disappeared completely.
There are a few minor side effects to watch out for. I took my first dose on an empty stomach, and this left me feeling queasy. Also, you should be sure to cover your mouth EVERY time you cough when you are on Mucinex, as it breaks up the phlegm in your lungs and expels it from your body.
