I used Fosamax, then switched to Fosamax Plus D. I had osteopena (pre-osteoporosis) which was found in my bi-annual bone density test. I was just recently taken off Fosamax Plus D because my bone density test was near normal. I am still taking calcium supplements, but I don't expect that I'll have to take Fosamax again. The only downside to this drug is that you have to set aside a weekly block of about 1/2 hour to take the pill, but that's a small price to pay.
