After smoking for about 15 years, I was tired of it. I hated every cigarette I put to my lips. I tried quitting cold turkey. I tried using the nicotine patches. Nothing worked for me...until my doctor recommended Chantix.

Within 2 weeks of taking Chantix, I noticed that smoking was on my mind less. I would go for hours without thinking of a cigarette. These periods gradually increased, until one day, I didn't think about smoking much at all. And even when it did cross my mind, I was able to resist the urge. After spending that first day nicotine-free, it was all downhill from there. With the help of Chantix, all of my urges to smoke were history.

I have now been smoke-free for over 2 years, and I owe it all to Chantix!!

I had tried quitting smoking for ten years, using every approach imaginable. I did everything from cold turkey to the gum to the patch, even older antidepressants that supposedly helped people quit smoking.

Chantix was the miracle pill I was waiting for. I forgot to put on a patch one morning, and suffered no nicotine withdrawal...NONE!! That's when I knew this wonder drug really was blocking the receptors in the brain.

I never worry about relapsing, because I know Chantix has my back!

I began taking Chantix for smoking cessation a few months ago. I had heard a lot of really great things about it. I asked my Dr. specifically however, if people who were prone to depression should be taking it. My Dr. said that it would be fine. I heard a few horror stories about Chantix. Well, I was one of them. I thought I wanted to kill myself and even other people around me. My fiancee recognized my crazed behavior and immediately took me to the local ER. Of course, they asked him my meds and the recognized right away why I was having a psychotic episode. It was the Chantix.....I stopped taking it immediately, and stopped smoking without it as well.

A few months ago, I began taking Chantix to stop smoking. Within two weeks, I no longer had any desire to smoke, and I had been smoking for more then 20 years. It worked wonders.
The only side effect that I experienced was very vivid dreams. Not in a bad way either, just very vivid. I think some of the emotional side effects that I have read about are mitigated by the fact I am currently taking anti-depressants and anti-anxiety medication also.
It has worked wonderfully. If I hadn't started smoking again, I would probably still be not smoking. As it is, I will begin taking Chantix again in a few days. It's going to give me a new start for my life.

I had been a smoker for most of my adult life and had tried numerous other methods to quit smoking with no success. Thanks in part to Chantix I have not had a cigarette in 13 months. Used with the online program I found this medication to be the best thing for me. After the first week if I stumbled and tried a cigarette, the effect of blocking the nicotine receptors was felt immediately. All I got from the cigarette was a horrible taste in my mouth and would put it out before I was halfway through. Although I didn't suffer from vivid dreams or some of the other side effects, I did have issues with nausea. I learned to take the pill mid-meal, instead of immediately before or after and that helped a lot. I also had a few hot flashes and some dizziness, but that was always in combination with the nausea.

I have tried to quit smoking a few times with different aids. I've received acupuncture, laser therapy, pills, lozenges, and hypnosis. I even tried the patch, but I could never keep the darn things lit! I started taking Chantix 4 weeks ago. I smoked for the first week, as instructed, and have been smoke free for the past 3! It has been difficult, but I can tell that the Chantix is helping. It also seems to induce fantastic dreams. The only problem that I have with it so far is that it seems to really make me itch. I'm not sure why that is, but it isn't bad enough to make me stop taking them. I plan on taking them for the recomended 4 months. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience of Chantix

After trying various times to quit smoking and being unsuccessful. My father in law told me about a medication called chantix to help with quitting smoking that was giving him good results. I made an appointment for my doctors and asked him if he thought chantix would be helpful for me to quit smoking.
My doctor prescribed me the starter package consisting of a first week dose .5mg and then 3 follow up weeks of 1mg dosage. I began taking the medication immediately. I had already stopped smoking about two days prior to starting and was very irritable and having serious cravings. Upon taking the medication I began to notice that my cravings were very manageable to the point where I'd think about smoking but wouldn't have that intense need to smoke feeling. I continued to take the medication for the four weeks and then stopped as I no longer was smoking and haven't smoked since then which was about a year ago next month.
Although this medication did make me feel slightly nauseous at times I found taking it on a full stomach prevented that. I highly recommend this medication to anyone that wants to quit smoking but needs a little help and is serious about quitting.

When I asked my doctor to help me stop smoking he let me know about a great new drug, Chantix. I wanted to quit, so I immediately filled the prescription. I immediately began to feel the effects. I didn't crave cigarettes the way that I had. I was impressed.

I had my husband, mother, and father all go to the doctor to get Chantix. My husband smoked for 18 years and was able to quit using Chantix within one month. Both of my parents had smoked for over 40 years, but after 2 months of Chantix, and now 3 years later, they are still smoke free.

I did not have any side effects, nor did my husband or father. Unfortunately, my mother exhibitied some depression, which was immediately cured when she was taken off the Chantix.

I would recommend to everyone trying to quit smoking.

I have to say this medication was not very pleasant for me. I was one of the few people who expriernced not just vivid dreams , but actual night terrors. If you've never experienced such a thing you are very lucky, picture the worst dream you've ever had but you cant wake up from it

Over the years, I've tried many times to quit smoking. Withdrawal symptoms were too much for me. I started taking Chantix both with reservations and anxiety. My fiance had taken it for two months and quit smoking. But since I have depression, I was worried that i'd experience severe symptoms.
So far, my dreams are no more strange than normal, and the cravings are way easier to handle while on it. The only bothersome part for me is the nausea. The nausea comes on suddenly and very strong. I will continue to take it, just "under a microscope".

This drug will definitely kill your tobacco cravings. You start with the .5 mg pill to acclimate your body and within a few days of changing to the 1 mg pill cravings just go away. I did have some vivid dreams but nothing bothersome. I had no adverse mood changes or suicidal thoughts. I did fail to stop smoking for good, the hand-mouth habit did me in. But cravings were not the problem

I took Chantix for a month or so and it did help me quit smoking. However, I experienced several side effects. They included vivid dreams, severe constipation, and depression. I would recommend it to others because if they don't experience the severity of the side effects that I did, it is a sure way to aid in smoking cessation.

This has been a great drug to quit smoking. I have smoked for many years and on the 8th day of taking Chantix, I was able to quit. The side effects have been minor. The first week, I had a few headaches and very vivid dreams. I have heard this makes people suicidal, but I have not felt that way yet. It is a life changing drug!
